Being Church

This fun and educational session started with the children drawing around their hands within the outline of a church building – a reminder that it’s us the people that make up the real church. Take a look at this poster in the church porch.

There were of course action songs and games that added to the session - including that fun song “ I will build my church”.

A dramatic reading about building which reinforced the need to look to God for help had the children building, shouting, and cheering.

Some magic was a fun way of visually illustrating what God has to offer us in or lives.

The children and young people divided into their teaching groups to write dramas to present to the others – illustrating church – what it is that we do as a church and what it is that we offer to God, each other and the wider community.

The children found out that Biggish the puppet is actually so old that he was around at the time of the early church and he shared memories of what that was like.

A session of being together, being church , learning, praising and having fun.
